The Maine State Bar Association (MSBA) and Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce (PRCC) are excited to welcome you to join us at their first ever joint event: the Maine Law, Business & Society Summit. From the use of artificial intelligence to the potential for data breaches, to preventing a #metoo incident to hiring and retaining a skilled, diverse workforce, Maine businesses and law firms face many hurdles in 2024. With these common concerns, the MSBA and PRCC created the Summit to convene the state’s lawyers and businesses to discuss a wide array of issues, identify ways we can collaborate for Maine’s future, and enjoy some networking, too.

The Summit will offer CLE credits for Maine lawyers, including ethics and harassment and discrimination credits. We also hope to secure credit for human resources professionals through HRCI, the HR Certification Institute. We have worked diligently to select faculty who are leaders in law and business at some of Maine’s top institutions. It is our hope that this is the start of a conversation that will initiate important changes in Maine’s legal and business landscape in ways that will bolster our workforce, broaden access to justice, and strengthen Maine from Kittery to Fort Kent.

We hope to see many of you at The Westin Portland Harborview (the “Eastland”) in Portland on January 24-26.
